Elite1412,

The PLESK Module is a little problematic and we have had several issue with it for customer and reseller accounts.  (In fact, at this point, we can only get the PLESK module to work for Reseller setup).

What module do you have and what version of PLESK are you using?

Hello

Thanks so much BRJP for coming to my aid.

I have a Plesk Reseller Account.
I ask the Plesk version from my Host Provider and below is their reply
"Our all windows server use latest version of Plesk Panel i.e. current version is 11.5"

Please how can you help, its been over a year i spent money on Hostbill, we can't still use it.

Waiting to read from you again.

Thank you

BRJP

The short answer is that the module was designed to work with PLESK 10 and is not quite compatible with PLESK 11.5.  It really needs to be updated to accommodate the latest version.

I am going to speak to KBKP and enquire about their roadmap.  Ill then report back here.

Dear All,

So PLESK 11.5 is supported using the below version:

Version: 1.6.3.3 Filename: class.plesk.php

I have tried this and it works BUT there is an issue which returns a "502 Bad Gateway" errors after setup has complete.  This means that the User Experience is ruined and its assuring for customers to get an error during sign-up.

I have spent some considerable time looks at what can cause the error and have failed - which is a real shame as apart from that it works just fine.  Perhaps someone in the community would be happy to help if I post the details from the logs?

I can now confirm that PLESK module (Version: 1.6.3.3 Filename: class.plesk.php) is compatible with PLESK 11.5 for customer setup.

We have not tried extensive testing (Reseller setup, multiple adds/removes) but the basic functionality does work as listed below:

- User can signup via order pages and automation will create account and domain in PLESK 11.5 and HB Control Panel.
- Details (URL, Username, Password) in Control Panel are correct and allow customer to log into PLESK successfully.
- Accounts can be cancelled and plugin automatically removed from PLESK server with success.

The issue we had was related to running PLESK and HB on the same server and NGINX was causing an issue leading to a 502 Bad Gateway error at the end go the automated setup using the PLUGIN.  We think (but don't know for sure) that this will not be an issue if using a remote PLESK server.

If you are using the same version as us (Version: 1.6.3.3 Filename: class.plesk.php) then you should also be able to achieve this.  Can you please post some screenshots of the issue, where you are testing connection and anything else that may help you get this working.

Hello BRJP,

Thanks for your update.

1. Talking about the module version, I do not know. I just installed from the hostbill panel. I have attached a screenshot of that. (NB: I just updated to latest HB Version)
2. I tried connecting the Plesk on different Plesk Module (from Plesk to Plesk Reseller) and i get same error (Connect() timeout). I attached screenshots too
3. I tried connecting cPanel and it works. I have also attached screenshot too

Thank you

BRJP

Please see screenshot of Settings --> Modules --> Hosting Modules and how to see the right version of PLESK Module.

Also, how are you connecting to PLESK?  Is PLESK on the same server as HB or on a remote server?

There could be multiple reasons for this - and not just an issue with the HB Module.

1. PLESK admin username and password correct?  Also the hostname?
2. Have you allowed PLESK Admin access only from specific IP addresses?
3. Do you have the firewall allowing access from your HostBill Server?

Hello BRJP

I have checked the version and its Version: 1.6.3.3 Filename: class.plesk.php

I have a cpanel and plesk, the HB is on cpanel. I have some issue installing it on Plesk, so i tried cpanel and it worked.
So HB is on Linux and Am trying to Connect it to a Windows Server.

Another stuff am curious about is this;
What is the different between a Host Address, Hostname and IP Address

1. PLESK admin username and password correct?  Also the hostname? ---- Yes am sure, I just loggedin again now
2. Have you allowed PLESK Admin access only from specific IP addresses? ---- I don't understand that
3. Do you have the firewall allowing access from your HostBill Server? ----- My host provider clarifies their self on this

Thank you, am really feeling relieved

Host Address / IP Address is like: 192.168.0.1
Hostname is like : www.microsoft.com

In PLESK, you can restrict access for Admin login to only particular IP addresses.  This is a security feature and a first line of defence against hacking into your admin control panel. If this is setup (Restrict Administrator Access) then you need to add the IP address of your LINUX server.

Its not just your host provider that has firewalls.  Your windows server will have a firewall (Windows Firewall) and PLESK may also have a separate firewall. (We don"t run PLESK on Windows so forgive our lack of knowledge).  You need to make sure that your LINUX boxes IP address and PORT 8443 (PLESK default PORT) is allowed through.

One more thing - when you are setting up the PLESK module in HostBill - have you tried to put the full domain name in with correct PLESK PORT?  For example, instead of www.microsoft.com you enter https://www.microsoft,com:8443 ?

Please One more step before I forward another Ticket to my Host Provider.

The domain name used as Hostname: I used just one of the domain names on the customer's account, the plesk is standing alone, not that i have any domain attached to it. I access it through IP. This is because the main domain is not carrying a Linux nameserver. Please has this domain thing been the issue ?

or

Can I PM my HB Login if you would try it with your Plesk Account ? or if you have somewhere else i can send you private info (eg: skype)
I would really appreciate if i can get a test plesk to test it.

Thank you

BRJP

Can you post the exact hostname that you placed in the PLESK module setup in HB?

Have you tried https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8443/ to see if that connects?

Also, have you had a look on your HodtBill server at the logs to see what is being reported as connection issues?
