lol. You're right. I read that, but a good answer, and it was rolling around in my head. perhaps the biggest advantage, is the tracking, that's always a good thing where sales are concerned, and I know I'd be nowhere near 12K emails a month at this time.

I know that I'm going to want to utilize an effective promotional offerings campaign from time to time too, so this looks quite attractive for that.

Strictly speaking existing sales and support though, it could be utilized to send all responses from a sales department in order to determine how often someone looks at the offers, etc., giving us a conversion rate to gauge the success of any campaigns, etc.

I'm just a geek though. There are many others who know a lot better than me how/what to do, and what can be done, with a friendly neighborhood SPAM service LOL.

But yes, it keeps my IPs clean as a whistle.

Though it's per case basis, i've had a few customers try to ring 2 of my support staff a new one because they "didn't receive an email for their high priority support ticket".  If we had this setup, we could track if it was delivered and if it was opened.  It's pretty useful for that kind of stuff.  Same with invoices.  I like knowing if my customers are reading their invoices, our notices etc.  It'll allow us to cut back on emails that may be pointless to send if no one ever opens one specific.

Oh man! I wasn't even considering the utility there, knowing if and when they opened an email (requires them to permit images to load in html I think or at least have html mail enabled - something I don't do in Thunderbird by default).

Most people permit their reader to open mail as html though - and load the images. 90%+ I would say.

Okay now I'm convinced. Patrick said it, but you rang the bell and I'm going to begin conversion over this weekend!

Just confirming that all you have to do is update your SMTP settings.

Also pleased to inform everyone that I myself am now using Mandrill. What a great service!

Thanks Iso for sharing that. I can confirm that everything is working as intended. It works perfectly in HostBill.

The only concern I have is that they store your emails on their servers, and many of our emails contain sensitive data. Can we disable emails from being stored? I don't want client access and personal tickets being revealed.
