You're not understanding.  I can also confirm it's in my MANUALLY DOWNLOADED copy, but 1 user reported Modern Panel being removed on auto update.  This is not about manual downloads, it's about if modern panel was removed when auto updating.  Meaning Hostbill may have removed modern panel purposely or accidentally and this is what is being asked.

It doesn't take 2 users to see what happened.  To verify it does, but if 1 user notices something go wrong, it's enough to proceed with caution.

NO! You based your assumptions on what 1 person reported. You don't even know if the user did a mistake on his own or if its is something unique to his install. I remember all this topics in the old hostbill forums from people that broke their software all by their own and blamed it on hostbill not working.

So YES, it requires at least 2 different persons with 2 different installations and servers, reporting the same issue.

And if the auto update removed it, because its a bug in the auto updater so what? You said yourself it's in your download, it will take 1 minute to upload it again and problem solved.

I don´t think the auto updater removes anything at all, this must be a problem relating to his installation, the auto updater overwrites files. But then again, I don't use this.

There are so many users reporting broken stuff and things not working after using the auto updater, that I advise users not to use that to update their installs. Servers can be so widely different, that they are just too many things that can and will go wrong with you are doing this automatically.

Patrick, I made a clear point. This is just causing confusion and false supposed bugs, you are alerting hostbill users of potential issues that may not even exist.

Look here:
http://www.hostbillforums.com/index.php/topic,191.msg1696

Was it a hostbill bug? No.

So unless 2 people confirm the same, I would not even care what the problem is.

You said " To verify it does, but if 1 user notices something go wrong, it's enough to proceed with caution."

And I don't agree.

Most 1 user noticing something going wrong, are not software problems caused by hostbill, but things user forget to do, or they happen to break by their own.

I can confirm that most of the problems users reported in the old forums, where not problems caused by hostbill, but their own installations or servers.

So before going into panic mode about some problem, the minimum should be 2 persons. We are filling the forums with supposed problems, which gives the impression its the software, while in most cases, its the user.

Also, of course I can´t listen what you said. I can only read  ;D

If you don't like discussing things, then a forum is the worst place to be hanging around.

That brings up another question though, Where can we get older copies of HostBill? Whenever I go to kbkp I only see the very latest version. I think I should create a public archive on one of my webservers so people who miss one cycle don't end up with a broken install like iso99 just did.

I've got a bunch of old ones that I can put up. Besides, we need a public archive of all of this stuff anyway.

I definately think that this should be available directly from HostBill.  I general skip upgrades unless I see a bug-fix I need, because I don't want to go though my entire site looking for new bugs.  Also the Auto-Update has messed up my site overwriting my custom orderpages, css, etc several times (although generally it does work).  It does frustrate me that we don't have access to that, most software providers would provide older versions in case of incompatibility with custom apps.

I expect if we try to make this available though this though KBKP would update their TOS again...

Hi guys! Just to clear things up.

I upgraded from 4.5.2 and I didn't have modernpanel yet that time. I wasn't interested in upgrading to versions between 4.5.2 and 4.6.4 because I saw that there were bugs in tickets. When I decided to upgrade to 4.6.4, I was hoping that modernpanel would be there since the announcement said that we are eligible for that theme. I was surprised to find out that 4.6.4 didn't install it by default even though I was a license holder before 4.6 happened.

I will check for the other new modules that were added after 4.5.2 some time. For now, do you think if KBKP will allow us to share those modules among ourselves? KBKP don't share downloads of older versions.

Update: No need to worry! The manual update has all the modules. The auto-upgrade feature does not determine whether you are an old license holder or not. Got modernpanel now :)

You might want to consider marking this thread as solved then.

But I'm still unclear on this - Are you indicating now that the autoupdate broke your website in the sense that it didn't include software that it should have?
