Anyone install the latest?  Any comments?  Wondering if the word wrap for estimates has been addressed.  This isn't a support thread but i believe it's good we all talk about each release.  Good way to knock things out of the park for whoever has a developer license to do an automatic update.

Talking on changelog would be great.
But to keep the track correctly pease change the subject with the version number.

Lawrence

Updated. I'd like to test the affiliates system since that is a major change in HostBill, but seems like that one will take up to a month to properly test.

None so far, only issue I've noticed so far is any customers I have under biannual cycles it doesn't show that under their service management in the client area

I've tried delayed invoice feature.

Arranged the invoice delay for 1 day.

Created an order and activated all steps.
Next day invoice hasn't been generated.

Didn't work for me.

The context is a bit confusing for me.

"its now possible to send final invoice to client X days after payment"

Did Kris mean "After payment is due?"

Have the issues on tickets (do not send email on replies, and blank tickets) got resolved in this version already?

Patrick

So far, we've replied to the most tickets since June 1'st then we have in the last 2 months and every ticket is good.  All emails are sent out and i can confirm that as email's are sent out through Mandrill, so i can verify an email is delivered properly and not blank.

So far helpdesk appears solid.  Only issue i've noticed so far is the "average response time" is missing from departments that it's enabled on for the modern theme

Yeah, it may look nice, but the modernpanel theme appears to have been hobbled together - features not there, modules don't work, products and services don't work here or there or here and there, etc.

QuoteAdded: vmWare 5: Improved error handling on VM creation

That's a lie - VMware 5 module hasn't been fixed - it's still broken, and it's highway robbery to expect someone with that module to pay $99 for kbkp to fix the bugs in that non-functional module (He's already extorted monies from other licensees in this manner).

Based on the fake bug-fix for the Quotes/Estimates he published in the last version (4.6.0), and the previous lies that people called him to the carpet on for lying in the changelogs (in the now defunct kbkp forums), I expect that some of those bug fixes in that changelog are also fake.

The ticketing system emails seem to be doing better, yet when I tried to schedule sending out an invoice it never went either.

I'm completely disregarding his bug reporting system too, since he has no bug tracking system, only a cheap version of OSQA, with no notifications to the bug reporters (other than what be a fake entry in the hostbill changelogs) as to resolution or whether it's even going to be dealt with, no way to edit those bug reports (That's more stupid than anything else in his bug reporter), or have other users add comments to clarify or add to the problem, effectively reducing the number of multiple bug submissions for the same darn issue lol.

I'm wondering what his nose looks like right about now... "Tell another lie Pinocchio."

Since I don't have a dev copy (WHMCS provides a free additional dev copy with every license BTW), I'm afraid I'm attempting to play it a little safe by not upgrading until I follow many of your observations folks ;) I'm currently on a cycle of upgrading about 5 days after the new releases, so I can hear about any showstoppers - hopefully.

I've also put out a request on the Used HostBill Marketplace here to purchase at least one additional copy for a fair and reasonable price (I'm offering somewere between $20 and $100 for an owned, unbranded HostBill license) to anyone who is interested in selling theirs, considering it seems that so many people are abandoning this software platform entirely.

The actual price is of course, dependant on how old the license is - older ones with free lifetime support circa version 2.x are obviously worth more than say, a license purchased at 4.5.8, which is really only worth maybe 20 bucks.

Another version that goes by and 0 new features for existing clients.

I also don´t see a single bug fixed I reported in the past in the last 4 or 5 releases.

Is there any point in upgrading like this? No new features for us customers. And unless a bug is fixed which you where affected, there is nothing compelling, at least for me to upgrade.

I hope Kris realizes that he also needs to keep current customers happy with releases, instead of spending all this time on new modules.

I'm a little late with the upgrades, still with 4.5.2. I usually upgrade after 2-3 releases, so petty bugs should've been fixed from the earlier releases.

I guess 4.6.2 is safe for now.

@Iso99: I was wondering if you would share whether you perform all upgrades, incrementally in order, including patches, or if you sometimes just skip a few versions and let it all wrap up by moving past a couple of versions at a time.

I had a problem where I didn't apply a patch (for 4.6.0 I think), and then another patch (the security patch) was released. So I applied the second patch and was notified by the auto-updater (which doesn't work - we have to perform all upgrades manually, which is prolly best anyway, considering) that I still needed to apply the earlier patch.

I didn't do anything at first, and then 4.6.2 was released, so I upgraded to that version. But the notification was still there.

So I started all over again installing patch 1, then patch 2, then re-applied 4.6.2 and the notifications went away.

It was either that or do a restore I figured.

@Nibb, kbkp announced on the hostbillapp that there will be no new features for existing customers - Only updates, whatever that means, besides security and bug fixes. Any new functionality you can purchase for $200+ for each new module released.

Where does he say this? I can't find it.

Thanks!
