Hello everyone,
we noticed this morning slowness on our HostBill admin, and we noticed that  HostBill is no longer active out of service
HostBill is it fall?
or just a server problem?

Regards
Sébastien

Hostbill own website and server is out.

The worst thing about this is that we cannot access our admin side either.

You know what this means right? That Hostbill admin area and the whole software depends completely on them to be online in order to work.

I started to noticed lately that I was logged out randomly every few minutes in the past weeks. Now its completely dead.

This is just scary. If hostbill servers are gone, so will be your admin side and probably order system. They copied exactly the biggest flaw of WHMCS with this.

Me too,

I cannot access to the website for hours and hours. Kris, the guy who used to answer my questions, seems to be on Skype but doesn't respond at all. I really need to look into something on the main site. Don't know what's going on.  >:(

our admin works very slowly, we have a lifetime license and without advertising, which is on our machines.
your admin are on the machines HostBill ?  :o

You are lucky, I cannot access my admin area at all.

You can load your admin side? Try logging out and in again? If you can still log in and its slow, the explanation is simple. It tries to load the news and other stuff from hostbill and since its dead the browser gets stuck.

This is just bad design. The software should cache this things. This is the problem when you try to load Javascript or other parts from other servers, if those servers are slow or dead it will bring your whole site with it. This is why I also prefer for example to have everything locally as opposed to load Jquery, etc externally. Speed and performance.

In this case, Hostbill Admin area probably tries to pull allot of data from their site which in my opinion is bad exactly because of this type of issues, not only it causes load on their servers each time you log in, but if their server is slow, so will be your admin, if their side is dead, so will be your side.

It should load this stuff once and cache it. In case of security notices, he wants them real time which I understand but this is why he has the email of their customers. I would prefer he emails that stuff or pushes security alerts another way.

Its just lazy design in the software, it pulls data and version check each time you log in.

I don´t know if this related to the current issue but my admin side and customer side keeps logging users out, even me, completely randomly. I log in and it logs me out again after a few seconds. Sometimes a few minutes, sometimes a few hours.

This is happening since the last update and for a week now in my case. Its almost not usable this way. I don´t know if this is related to their server issues because now I cannot log in anymore and even if I can it keeps logging me out again very fast.

I also have a lifetime license in my own servers. It still tries to connect to hostbill server and seems to depend on them to work. At least the client side seems to be working. Not sure if orders, etc are still working but it loads fine. The admin side? It loads but cannot log in.

a new order has just fallen, it has worked flawlessly.  :D

Well that is great news, at least we know that still works, but if the admin side is not working you can´t do much either in case you need to correct an order, respond a ticket, see customer data, etc. I can´t. Its very, very slow like you mentioned.

I don´t know since when they are down, but if they don´t come up eventually, lets say they are down for over 24 hours, then your admin side will also fail because it will fail to verify the license, that will be bad news.

Lets hope its just a network problem on their side and not a bigger issue, they are in Softlayer which is very good actually, so it must be something affecting only Hostbill own server.

No issues here. I've uninstalled the "hostbill extra" module just in case...
Speed is also not an issue.
