Did you create a backup before you upgraded? This is the only method that needs to get followed with hostbill upgrades. Did you try downloading the update and doing it without the auto upgrade feature?

Can you revert? I haven't upgraded yet as i didn't see a reason to.

Might be a bug in the update. I am not updating at this time so i can not reproduce the issue. Did you revert and try again? check the permissions of everything.

+1'd it here too. If someone could let me know if/when a patch is available with a link to download it would be most appreciated :)

IOW: HostBill won't show when it's been fixed, it will just say there's a new version to download, only if you install the broken version will you see the link to the patch, otherwise, all you will see is a link to download the new version - as if it was never broken.

I didn't upgrade yet either.  I don't see anything worth breaking my install for - it's really sad when people have to look at a software app that way.

Agreed whmcs has another issue also, software just doesn't get the testing before its released anymore as everyone wants to make money no one cares about quality just like everything in this world.

I forget Danny, are you doing manual updates?

I know that except for the actual breakages caused by bugs introduced by kbkp's lack of regression testing, I don't usually have any of the issues that most of the auto-update users are crippled by on a regular basis.

I typically get errors saying that things are out of date, until I manually check the files and/or compare md5 sums, but those notifications strangely enough go away about a day later most of the time.

And I ALWAYS maintain manual backups from mysql dumps of my MariaDB 10.x databases and everything in the VirtualHost container's directory tree just in case I need to do a five minute rollback.

Finally, I almost always perform updates one distro or patch tarball at a time, preceded by a back up at each step, instead of skipping updates.

For a worst case scenario, I also perform snapshots twice daily of each virtual machine at the hypervisor management level (and sometimes the fs level if I'm using btrfs, HammerFS, or ZFS. it's really nice to just be able rollback from a snapshot even though that isn't the primary method I incorporate.

I use the auto upgrade all the time, never done a manually upgrade.

The sort of reprehensible behavior that causes people such anguish is unforgivable. kbkp will burn in hell for this.
