Do hooks work in Hostbill?

I did read that custom development and making your own modules is not allowed in Hostbill anymore, but what about hooks?

I use the API but I am not getting hooks to work.
I searched online and I found this page https://dev.hostbillapp.com/events-hooks/ and it does not say it is not available to general public.
Anyone has any hints on how to make sure it is working? does it echo to screen if included?

Hooks should work as well as the custom mods as you can't prevent this from occurring Hostbill is locked down but everything else works.
