Anyway to recover a deleted invoice?

Not right away that I'm aware of, and I don't think it is possible to "regenerate" it either. I have never had any success with creating invoices starting before today.

Do you need to send it out or do you need to recreate the content?

Not recreate—I accidentally deleted the invoice and just wanted to know if there's any way to recover it.

I tried it now. I deleted an unpaid invoice and reviewed the logs and the other possible places. I can't find any traces of the invoice or its content (except for being logged when deleted), so I'm pretty sure delete means deleted.

Please request this as a new feature as I think the team are sick of me asking for new features lol
