Addons, Forms or Sub-products?

Does anyone know how to use add-ons, forms, and sub-products best?

I use them almost interchangeably and have difficulty finding out why I have made the different choices. With the addition of hiding products for separate orders in Hostbill 2024.23, I think this would be the best choice in most cases. Then, all articles we sell would be on the "same level," but some are only available as sub-products to the defined "main products." I imagine this would simply product statistics in Hostbill.

Are there any disadvantages to this? I have a hard time deciding on the pros and cons.
