What other good alternatives are there ?

The reason I am asking is simple, after reading a lot of posts here and googling around in information regarding hostbill this year and all the not so wise changes being done in the product, the licensing and the price-model who else would not ask the same question. I am a bit frightened by reading a lot of post regarding his/theres ignorance and If I am to speculate he/they seem to concentrate where there is fast cash, not in the long term costumer-relationships with us "small" guys, I think that this is hurting the product and the brand in the long run.

So... Instead of buying a product that in my opinion may fail in time if not any big changes are made, or for us buying it and spending more money on services to fix bug/problems that should have been fixed by them in the first place; I have to look at other products and maybe hire some to develop them for us.

A quick search on google and some google translating I see that they are hiring at least 4 now, 2 of them senior php-programmers.
Are these the big changes I was hoping for ?

Okey, so much for free speech. Just thinking out loud here.
The topic says it all, what other good alternative do we got out there ?

Sentro

Only one that i've personally heard of is WHMCS. Other than that hostbill seems to be working "fine" right now concerning the software side for us.
Besides that ( and by that i mean, support, fixes, updates etc etc) everything seems to be falling apart.

So unless you have a developer license, time and experience to do some stuff by your own i would consider something else.

kbkp has been running those want ads forever. It indicates no change from what he's been doing for some time now.

Are what, what big changes? First I've heard of any big changes - do you have a link indicating any big changes?

There are almost two dozen. Many or most are documented here in the forums. Some are in the can. Some are in development or planning. Some haven't been maintained in a few years, yet are still quite viable. What is it that you are seeking to do with your billing software? Without knowing that, one can't really offer up much.
