Hey that's a nice list of fixes and new modules.

Anyone ever try DigitalOcean?  I was going to test their cloud a few months back, but then found out they won't allow more than 1 IPv4 on a node.  If anyone does pick up a copy of the DO module, post a review.  I'm considering it... but given the history of ignoring bugs for months at a time...

I guess if someone doesn't choose to operate their own infrastructure then the digital ocean might be attractive. The module doesn't appear to offer a true integration as a provider though - only a customer api to manage your so-called droplets. So when your customer deploys, I'm assuming that it's your droplet and then they have control over it, subjecting you to their adherence to (or their non-compliance with) the AUP/ToS that you're responsible for - IOW, one abusive customer could find all of your customers suspended due to YOUR abuse of the account, by proxy.

Correct me if I'm wrong though. That's just from a cursory overview.

owncloud looks pretty great - opensource too!

This one I really don't understand. I've been using and deploying ownCloud for a long time. it's relatively straight-forward to create a template for any distro w/an ownCloud SaaS to deploy from the order pages, so I'm not understanding this. You install the module, then you subscribe to (or setup on one of your own servers) an ownCloud instance, then you create an account for someone (your customer) on that ownCloud instance.

In that scenario, that's like being invited to a dropbox group with a bunch of other people you don't know.

ownCloud is pretty kewl, and like I said, I use and deploy it all the time, it has connectors for dropbox gdrive, whatev, so a single dropbox instance can leverage those resources w/o using any of its own disk space, and it's completely cross-platform compatible, w/clients for Android, iPhone, Linux, Mac, and wYNd0z3. the client, unlike your typical gdrive or dropbox clients, can connect to several different ownCloud servers too, further enhancing your capabilities, by showing more than one syncing directory or subdirectories.

But I would think that a customer would want their own (sic) ownCloud, not a shared resource with other people (your other customers that they can now see and interact with).

So I'm interested in hearing about how others see themselves incorporating the use of ownCloud (and it certainly isn't for backups - there are actually good ways to do this directly from CloudStack, VMware, Xen, etc.).

The orderpages are absolutely silly for $199, something more like $20 would make sense. The modules... maybe it will be good for someone, I don't understand them personally and I hate resellers of others' services  :P

That being said, the amount of fixes and what not, if they actually applied to our modules, looks like a step in the right direction, first week of hopeful results in a long time.

interested in this one - HTML tags are visible in tickets but striped out from email notifications

Re owncloud, currently we deploy sharepoint vps for clients wanting their own portals. However, this looks to be a very nice alternative, drag and drop files and folders, etc.
