Hostbill configuration Questions

1.  Our Hostbill installation throws an error about unable to create invoices at /var/www/html/templates_c whenever we manually execute the Charge CCs task or manually charge a CC through the Hostbill interface.  I do not understand how this is possible as the folder has 777 permissions per the installation wiki.  Have you ever run into this before?

2.  Whenever new invoices are generated, the Paypal payment type is automatically assigned to the invoice.  We have rearranged the order of the payment modules to put "Credit Card" (which is the payflow gateway module) first, but this doesn't change anything.  How can you set the default payment module to be used by generated invoices?

I greatly appreciate any feedback that can be provided.

Lawrence

1. Try moving your templates_c outside of the public directory. I doubt that's the cause, but maybe HostBill is picking up PCI non-compliance? A 777 folder would make your install non-pci compliant if exposed in a public directory. Make sure to edit your config.php file if you do this. Feel free to reply back if that doesn't resolve your issue.

2. You can't sort this. It's been requested dozens of times, and HostBill doesn't seem to want to implement sorting features. (Or they want to charge $400 for it per client). Take a look at the server status page for example. Sorting is not HostBill's forte.

Lawrence,

I appreciate your reply.  I will attempt moving the directory and report back for the benefit of the forums.

As for my second question...I was not actually looking to sort anything (I don't think, unless I misunderstood what you meant by sorting).  My issue is that all new invoices are generated with "Paypal" as the payment method and I want them to be "Credit card".  I thought rearranging the order of the payment modules would do this but that does not appear to be the case.

My apologies, I knew what you meant but I wasn't clear enough.

Give this a shot. Try sorting your payment options in the modules page and then generate an invoice, or place a mock (fake) order and see if the sorting order changes on invoices / payment methods on the clients end.
