Creating a password field

This may seem like a stupid question but are we missing something that we cannot seem to find?  Under components during product setup you can add text fields for custom input during the signup process.  One thing we can't do is a password box.  Is there CSS i can't think of the add under the advanced tab to conver text over to ***'s or is this something simply missing.
