If you're using CloudStack, Amysta can handle a lot of the billing but provisioning is still mostly a chef cook.

A bit pricey at $250.00/socket/yr, but seems to be quite full featured and is reportedly quite stable.

as in $250/socket of each system it's doing chargeback for? that's a bit outrageous.

they must be going after the corporate enterprise market. chargeback components of vmware and the like are all big bucks. massive rapeage and shift tactics by software companies as of late. doing nothing but pushing more people towards open-source.

Wow those prices are intense. I guess some companies find it worth the price, but I can't seem to justify it in my business endeavors.

Yeah, just looking at the two options, and what is supported at the $100/socket schema shows that it really is an Enterprise targeted offering, since Citrix appears to enjoy support at that price point.

I'm not sure why most enterprises (typically private clouds, anyway) would be interested in billing through, unless it's interdepartmental or something.

Anyway, Pierre is friendly and available on short notice to demo the product, but he's fast, so if you want him to demo anything don't be shy about asking him to go back or spend a little more time on something.

I'll post more of these alternatives here and there, although as we can already gather, the majority of them are probably outside the price point of what we're interested in, otherwise I figure most of us would just choose ubersmith instead (and many of us do, myself not included).
