No, I understand where everyone is coming from but aren't the following features still included?

- All payment modules
- Most provisioning modules
- Other various modules not yet listed in the software store.
- Most domain management modules

I know a lot was taken out, but there's still a good bit of functionality left.

[edit]

I could also be wrong, I haven't tried to install the new version of HostBill. (I don't have access to the trimmed down version)

Maybe for the new owners this can be different?

All my features function fine for now. As long as he doesn't force all the old clients to start paying for everything that works now, once that happens i'm sure the rest will follow suit out the door. I agree that trying to find out what he is thinking can cause a person to get locked up in a padded room. On another note if he listens a little to some of us and the public's questions and he either sells the company to someone or just gets better management then we can see a turnaround i sure of it. I have hope but i am also a realist.

... he either sells the company to someone or just gets better management then we can see a turnaround i sure of it.

In all honesty, nobody is going to buy the Hostbill company from Kris. Can you imagine having someone like that as a partner or employee or even a contractor?  Talk about a risky business.  Yikes!

If someone purchases hostbill, it would be *without* having Kris involved any further.  This is the only way the business could possibly succeed.

nibb

Im not sure, why not? The new partner would get full code, so he can fire him when he wants in case he does not deliver. And the new owner would have control, he would just tell Kris what to develop or what bugs to fix. He would only be the background developing, for a salary + % of earnings or what ever the new business partners decides.

Its clear that Hostbill does have some talent. We know its not customer care, neither business management, neither any public facing customer skills, he is a fast developer, not a perfect one, some things are sloppy, but the business partner would be there to test quality, regression, bug tracking, etc. Its clear that Kris is rather very disorganized, sometimes new updates, have again old files in then, I noticed this on the lines of language replacements, sometimes something fixed, in a new update is again replaced by an older file which had the old bug.

So its clear to me that he is ultra disorganized and a little messy, you can also notice this on his own website which is not really consistent. And one of the reasons of all this, is because he does not stick to something and changes everything all the time. He creates himself more work all the time, not sure why.

So, yes he is a good developer, but an awful business manager. If someone would buy the company or kick him in the class act, the company would amazing, in terms of profits and customers. But he must be really hard to work with, because it seems at least the staff that was with him before, left. Maybe because of money, but maybe because he really hard to deal with as a person. We don“t know, but it would not surprise me, as good developers are strange animals.

If he actually gets a new partner on board, or sells the company, this could really save the bad image he has, because everyone would start to slowly trust the new company again, since im sure not a single person would make the mistakes he does running his business.

I'd like to know if the OP decided to purchase Hostbill.  If he did... perhaps he could come back to these forums and let us know what is included in the software.

(And he also might find this thread appropriate.)

Are you..... SERIOUS!?

$199? Come on... Okay so things are worse than I thought. I admit stupidity.

Every single Billing script under the sun other than HostBill now offers a cPanel module for free.

Oh boy.... Sorry i don't normally rage like this, but come on!

Maybe you should start a "petition" to get cpanel module back into the hostbill core.  lol.

After all, Kris reads these forums and cares about his business, despite what is apparently obvious.  So you said...

Even if the OP is done with this thread, I've split this topic with the almost 2-3 pages of  very heated debate in the timeout area.  You can view that here.  Feel free to continue the discussion on what the OP was asking or if you like OP i can lock the thread

Edit:

Nibb please repost your response in the new topic in the timeout area please.  I won't delete your post but i'd appreciate it if you could edit your post to remove the previous discussion and simply copy and paste it in the ongoing thread over at the timeout area

I'd like to publicly state that my previous statement in this thread may have been a bit overly emotional, so I'm going to from here on remain a bit more neutral on these things and continue to hold onto my optimism about HostBill. The last thing I want to do is see HostBill fail. With that said, and to go back on topic,

HostBill includes a decent amount of functionality with an initial investment of around $1,000. cPanel, domain modules, and maybe an order page, and you got yourself a standard web hosting portal.

Yeah, kinda Machiavellian, but stupid is as stupid does, huh?
