Metered Billing in Hostbill, Confusion about memory resource settings...

Hello all,

When attempting to configure metered billing on the General tab of a new product order page. I'm unable to set the "resource pricing: memory" option to anything below .01/MB an hour.

If I'm understanding that right I would be charging a LOT for even one GB of ram.

I noticed inside the "Connect With App" section I can also set resource prices for things like memory, But those appear to be showing as up-front costs to be paid during VPS creation.

My end goal is to have the client be able to configure and create one or more VPS's paying only a setup fee, and then bill the client one month later for usage of hardware while allowing the client to scale their VPS up or down depending on need.

Watching the outdated video on metered billing only seems to confuse me a bit more because in the video in the exact spot I cannot place anything less than .01 the employee in the video can easily place .00001 (Which would make sense to me over a 24hr period to do something like that, .00001 * 24 * 30 = x assuming the client ran their VPS 24/7)

I get the feeling that I wouldn't last long if I was charging $245 a day for 1GB of ram...  ???

Hi,

First of all, how many decimal places have you set in your settings?

Go to Settings>General Settings>Currency&Tax Settings and look at your Storage Decimal Places.

If you want to enter amounts less than 0.01 try changing this value to something like 5, which should allow you to enter values 0.00001

Note you can keep Display Decimal Places at 2 so prices will still display only two decimal places.
