sending invoices on creation

Our hb install creates new invoices fine. However it never sends out a "new invoice" email to clients. It only ever sends the reminder email a few days before it is due. We have to manually check the invoice and "send" each day.

What obvious thing are we missing as this is becoming a pain and stopping us from ditching our other software completely.  We are about to merge another webhost and really need an answer before we do!!

OK - so lets check a few things:

• Can you confirm whether the logs (Extras --> System Logs - Email Sent) says the email is being sent or does it agree with you that they are not?
• Is the Invoice New email tempalte enabled in Settings --> Email Templates

I also thought there was a place (but I can't find it) where you select what your New Order email is going to be - although I am not sure this is the same as the Invoice email.

the logs simply show the emails were not being sent. I have updated to the 2nd last latest version and it started to create create and send emails to some, but not for some existing clients. I have modified them from bank transfer to paypal, to see if that makes any difference. Its very strange!
