Hi All,

Today, I went browsing through Hostbillapp.com to see if there was any changes. On http://hostbillapp.com/order/ I noticed that the 30 day refund policy is gone (not terribly surprising I guess) and just out of curiousity I clicked on the $999.95 package... and I see the $599.95 order page? Now both order pages have different id's in the url...

Wonder if he made a typo in the backend? Wonder if he is making any sales at all?

oi...

Well someone should tell them about it. Too bad they have a paywall in front of any communication. :)

I think it's great that Kris checks these forums. The fact that Kris doesn't have to moderate a forum means he's got more time to focus on other important stuff. :)

The fact that Kris doesn't have forums at kbkp means only that he is remiss in his responsibility.

I hope that these forums serve as the greatest foreboding to would be purchasers of his software, and also, that these forums seriously curtail, if not serve to completely prevent, any further sales of his software.

No one should be subjected to the kind treatment that we have here, being forced to endure this kind of unconscionable abandonment and a myriad of illegal practices by kbkp software.

Yes, I agree.  After all, only the most stupid business person would ever consider setting up forums on their own website to allow their own customers to communicate with each other and the developers.

Only an absolute moron who has NO time at all during a 24 hour day would bother to waste his time interacting with their customers, or providing some method of discussion so that customers can feel like they are being heard.

Kris's decision to remove the forums from the hostbill website was definitely a smart decision.  After all, he was spending so much time on those forums, right?  We were all begging him to stop being part of his community and to spend more time coding.

So it's really nice that now he has SO MUCH MORE time to spend doing other awesome business activities besides communicating with his customers.

I have to agree with this wholeheartedly.  We all manage our business's while attending to our customers, WHMCS, Clientexec, Microsoft, Sony, Bose, LG, Toshiba, Asus, Corsair, Intel, AMD, insurance companies, banks, Oracle, 3COM, Interworx, cPanel, Apple, Linksys, Cisco, Samsung, Blackberry ----- to name a few random top of the head brands all survive development + customer service and do not require cutting corners to spend more time doing anything.

Without customer service you're nothing.  Putting up a PAY-WALL to even report high security exploits is too funny if you think about it.  Just not so much for the customers who have money already invested in this business being run on auto-pilot without any communication from who ever the heck owns it.

After a few tickets i reviewed this morning between my support/billing staff and this 1 customer.  It left me wondering where my business would be if we took Hostbills approach to customers and put up a pay wall.  I'd all but guarantee we'd be out of business in less then a year or paying out of pocket for salaries and no ROI.  My guys (and lady) managed to defuse an intense situation and actually have a customer happy all while talking to them like a person.  I can tell all of you one thing.  Unless Hostbill smartens up, they will not have a renewable source of income to survive.  No one considers them a viable option and i'd be very surprised if the even get 1 signup a month.  I'd gander a guess at 1 signup per 2-3 months if even that.

Personally, i don't expect them to be very successful.  Impossible to be without caring or giving a damn
