Another pricing model - Request for Quote

I just logged into the HostBill Client Portal to check our license date and noticed that you cannot buy modules/plugins without requesting a quote.  It seems prices are no longer visible and the new pricing model requires a quote for anything you buy - whether it is an entire service or a single add-on post purchase of the core software.

We have not yet asked for the cost of a module so this will be interesting when we do.  What is concerning is the lack of transparency of the prices - which is at odds with how most businesses operate which is to promote transparent pricing.

For some reason, I am more worried by this approach to pricing then previous price increase over the last 12 months.  I am also not sure why KBKP cannot find a model and stick to it for a reasonable period.
Kind regards,
Bradley Porter

Just logged into my account and appears he has removed the request for quote and back to displaying the price for a module.

You are absolutely right; and I think this is the right thing to do.

KBKP needs to keep pricing transparent and increase certainty of their company.  I do remain a strong supporter of the product and would like to see some stability in their pricing.

Hostbill is a dead end. Forget Hostbill people. We used more than 1 year to make hostbill run smoothly with 3-4 systems together.
We never managed to achieve this goal. Hostbill really sucks. Yes they have some nice orderpages and some nice modules, but the truth is, that Kris is not a person you can trust in any way. His businessmodel changes every hour, he changes his prices like the weather changes, then there is this ridiculous support system, bug tracker etc. I could mention so many bad things, too many than good.  >:(

How can you run a business with such an unstable person? All people who run HB must admit that YES there is some serious issues with the developer behind this software. It is a ripped version of whmcs anyway. Any developer knows that.

Go for whmcs, you get professional support and there is more modules available than HB. If you can't find a specific module compared to HB, get it custom developed.  We did this and what we couldn't achieve in 13-14 months, we did it with whmcs within 2months.

For those who are running HB, trust me, you can't sleep good at night  ;) Admit or not, that is the truth. One day when he is turning the key, you will stand there and doing the same.   ;)
