Proxmox Module is a Mess

Proxmox VE automation for Hostbill should not be considering supported.

Aside from
Setting root passwords on containers incorrectly
Reboot button in clientarea is nonfunctional

It would be much appreciated if someone else who uses Proxmox, see if IPAM assings IP address correctly. Not sure if this is an issue with my setup, ipam, or the module. I'm having an issue where IPAM is unaware that a vps has been created that needs an IP.

Also, has anyone have this working with the new Proxmox 3.0? Wishful thinking I know.

Thanks for posting this.  I was going to open a thread asking if the Proxmox automation is working.

There were a lot of proxmox compaints I saw before the demise of the kbkp forums. I don't do proxmox myself, mostly Xen and VMware, but I feel your pain :)

I work with proxmox, vmware, onapp, and solusvm for what its worth I believe proxmox gives all other cp platforms a run for its money, when it comes to how it communicates to each node and having multi-master features and HA already enabled to it being open source. On that note I have setup the automated process for Kvm and openvz. The reboot feature used to work I will have to check on when it quite functioning. As i use kvm for every system the only process that is truly automated for the vps side is that it will create the vm, allows the client to turn on/off, and gives the right permissions when giving client access to the node. What it doesn't do is set the ip information, gateway and subnet in the client and admin interface. Doesn't communicate correctly with the ipam module, when consoling the system from the client portal doesn't adjust the screen size to fit the whole vnc image. If you just do a normal console from the node the popup shows correctly. I have contacted some coders to see what and how much it will cost to fix or develop a custom module for hostbill and/or whmcs as neither billing platform has a good and stable module built.

I had to open a ticket to get the reboot issue fixed, he's patching it in the next release. I gave up on hostbill. I'd rather write my own module for another system than to try and deal with Hostbill. There's too many modules he is trying to take on by himself, can't keep up with bugs or API updates.

That is why i believe some module should be opensource if they can't manage them let the community.

Especially when there is no way to get any help unless you pay. Reporting bugs is a shot in the dark with this company. Had this software been open source, I would love to develop off of it. But instead we get buggy closed source software we can't fix minor issues. We're at the mercy of Kris.
