Power Buys

This suggestion could be controversial having read how some of you feel about the current HB Support Model.  However, for the sake of discussion, I will propose something.

If HBForums developed a bug/issue/functionality tracker and the community cast votes, we could split the cost of HB development/support to obtain a common fix.  Perhaps a troublesome bug in common order-pages thats needs to be fixed but a $75 charge is too steep.  If we had 10 forum users who wanted the same fix, then $7.50 might feel more palatable.

I am unsure if Kris is going to change the support model and this made me think how we could work with it.  I am not here to argue the ethics, dictate to Kris on how to run his Business or pass comment  on the model.  However, if we want faster fixes/changes then this might be considered an option.
Kind regards,

That seems acceptable if everyone gets the fix and all questions answered.

Thanks, Fusionhost.  Two main factors will make this work.

  • Resurrecting the HB Forums Bugs/Enhancements thread and adding voting for common issues
  • Getting enough buy-in from forum members for the Powerbuy.
We have myself and you with an expression of interest but need some more to grow.

Thanks for the support so far.

However, we have a new dynamic where single support tickets cannot be purchased anymore.  Up front bundled tickets for 999USD will have to be purchased.  This brings the cost per ticket down to 20USD.  The lower cost is a good thing but the upfront cost will have to be discussed and participators will have to stump-up larger sums of initial capital.

If we could find 5 people willing to front 200USD each then that would mean each are awarded 10 tickets each.

It certainly has become a little more complex and needs greater review and a level of trust agreement.

Thoughts anyone?

Bradley Porter

Don't worry!  I have just logged in and can now see that support tickets can be bought singularly!

That was not the case when I last looked last week!
