There're some regulations involved with being a moderator. You must follow these simple rules.
- This is an open forum. Individuals are entitled to their freedom of speech.
- Subject edits are to be limited to prepending / editing tags [tag] to subjects and clarifying the subject if necessary or if unclear.
- Post edits are logged and publicly visible to everyone, so good reason is needed for editing another user's post.
- There are no justifications for banning a user that has a valid HostBill license. They are a HostBill customer, and have every right to be here.
- Anything illegal found to have been posted on these forums is to be archived immediately.
Of course this comes with other moderator tasks, all of which are self explanatory to anyone with forum experience. Removal of spam should this forum ever be the target of such just to name one of them.
You will not be expected to perform these tasks, you are after all a volunteer.
BenefitsThere are none. The only benefit here is creating a professional environment for other HostBill users to get the help they need. You will gain the recognition of the community as a good-willed contributor and viewed as someone who's putting forth their time to help others.
Your Moderator StatusSince you are a moderator, there may be a natural interest in
who you are. People
will be viewing your profile. Regardless of your status, you are still a HostBill customer, and have all the rights and benefits of a standard user on the forums. Everyone has these rights, so the final rule in being a moderator is to not exploit your role to gain a competitive advantage over your colleagues. Examples aren't needed, but a few will be provided regardless.
- Making one of your posts in the development boards a sticky to raise views.
- Hiding / deleting another user's post to gain more visibility.
With all that said, anyone interested in being a forum moderator please reply to this topic and you will be considered. Individuals that are helpful / participate more on these forums will be given higher priority.
