Thanks for the info guys.  I actually did recently restore my "hosts" file to the windows default, maybe that's the problem.  (I need Windows on this machine because I have to run a couple programs that only support Windows! I know... not my first choice either.)

Anyway, I did find the site.  It's not my ISP, I jumped onto another machine sitting 3 feet away.  I should have checked that first.  Sorry to waste your time, but thanks for the posts.

Although I'm excited that they are now taking the bugs seriously, I'm also very unhappy that they have removed the community forums completely. It was the best way to ask support, for free, with the community that they themselves can monitor and reply to. Some of the topics there are still relevant and helpful. If they want to close the forum, they could have at least use it as an archive for viewing only. /endrant

Pretty much a glaring example that he doesn't care about us or our well-being as users of his software. I'm just insulted at every turn by this guy and it's infuriating.
