Another release, and more confirmation to what i stated almost 2 months ago now that we will no longer receive new features to that of which we paid.  They are concentrating too much on paid modules and not the bugs or possibly enhancing the core itself.  Nibb, do you need any more evidence the core will no longer receive updates?

I haven't seen nibb around here for a few weeks now. I think he's prolly switched off to a different billing platform. I even sent him a PM a while back and no response.

Back on-topic.... So far I haven't experienced any glitches w/this update to 4.7.4. I'll be sure to report back if anything weird happens.

He was last on here the 27th but he was still muted so he signed off.  I think it pissed him off that he was still muted and wrote off coming back here.  I doubt he switched though because he loved hostbill and found nothing wrong with it.  He was the one advocating for it on here and WHT.  He'll eventually come back.  He likes arguing with me too much not to.

I'm debating on leaving my version exactly where it is since no new features are being introduced anymore as mine sorta functions.  I have a few irritating quirks but i can get around those a little bit.

Well when/if you do upgrade Patrick, make sure you do it in order not skipping any versions. I tried to skip three versions when going to 4.6.4 I think and hosed a bunch of stuff, had to roll back, and then work incrementally through each one to get it working correctly again.

Just read another post about a guy who did an autoupgrade from several versions back and it reportedly hosed portions of his install too.

Oh that's awesome news... so continue upgrading or risk a headache.  sweet!  I'll slowly be moving a few things away from HB anyway so i'll continue upgrading each week then.  I really have no patience to deal with that crap.  Thanks for letting me know though, that was something i was really curious about if i missed an upgrade before the next update.

Has anyone got plans on making a Hostbill importer for Blesta :-) Probably make a few bux  for your troubles as I'm sure there are a lot of people disgusted with the whole HB situtation especially lack of responsiveness and ready to switch and pay a reasonable amount for an importer. So sad because the HB software works well and the order pages are head and shoulders above anything out there, even Blesta.

at the moment that would be hard, blesta cannot handle vps / dedicated server orders etc. I think Blesta 3 needs about 6 months to develop before I would consider moving to it.

That's why I'm only moving 2 businesses over right now since bleats supports multi company that part should be easy.  6 months is a cake walk

If it's any consolation, I did receive some positive news from KBKP. I can't give any details, but some things are gonna change (No ETA). I'm guessing within 1-2 months. Hopefully for the better.

Yes I remember you posted this about the second or third day the forums were up - it got worse.

I remember that part too. They haven't yet. Well actually, they have, and it's been for the worse.

I hope kbkp sells all of their assets. That would be good news.

Kris doesn't give me full details on much, which is why I'm sometimes left giving half information. I wish I could extract some direct answers, but unfortunately I'm in the same boat as everyone else. Hopefully the subtle hints I was given do turn out for the better though.

We're about to buy our Blesta license Friday, so there has to be more for me to avoid moving to another panel.  I'm surprised he talks to you but leaves all other customers in the dark and frankly, what has he done thus far to keep anyone loyal.  As far as i'm concerned and no disrespect Lawrence.  I need more info on whether to stick around with Hostbill or not.  What Bradley said is good news, a new price change or fixes to something that should be already fixed or new client/admin theme is not really good news.

So unless he's merging with a reputable company or selling, or the business is moving to a more customer oriented environment, i'm not sure what can really be considered good news.

I also have to say, no disrespect to you at all Lawrence what so ever but the subtle hints from you another customer getting more information then us more customers seems silly.  He runs a blog, tell him to update it with some better information to keep his customers on board.  Especially with Blesta becoming public release and they are currently getting ready to develop a hostbill importer and in this few months time we're waiting on Hostbill news, Blesta will further develop in to what everyone needs anyway.  For the same cost of a pre-sales ticket with Hostbill.

Now i don't mean to sound so negative, but this comes at a time i'm about to buy a license to another software and prepare a move, so it's almost frustrating.

This is a totally worthless post to make, as it's nothing more than gossip.  I'm not trying to disrespect you, Lawrence, but really... what is the point of telling us this?  Are you trying to convince us that after all we've experienced with hostbill... suddenly Kris is going to turn around and become a customer-friendly nice guy?  If so, then your post is all the evidence we need to know nothing has changed otherwise he'd be posting and communicating to his customers himself

Other than that.. what could possibly be "good news"? He's going to consolidate all his stupid modules back into one reasonably priced application and support what we paid for?  Well, I think you would get more than a "subtle hint" if that were in the cards.

Nope... I see little point in your post here except to cause confusion and false expectations.

If you have any kind of direct contact with Kris in some kind of special Hostbill club, than I suggest you tell him it might be nice for him to come over here and communicate with his customers, himself.  He also has his own sales website, blog, and mailing list he could use.  There is no excuse.

there is a lot of talk about blesta at the moment and there are a lot of people jumping ship to it. I have to say even with hostbill in its current state it is so far ahead of blesta its not funny. Blesta looks nice but is exceptionally basic, hardly any modules, plugins etc and it will take them at least 6 months (probably 1 year +) to get to a standard for selling shared hosting plus domain reg - NOT including being able to sell vps / dedicated and being able to manage the data effectively. Don't get me wrong blesta look lovely, and I like where it is going but I don't understand how you can move from hostbill to it in its current form.  If anything I would head for clientexec or whmcs and keep the $99 blesta license for at least 6 months before re evaluating.
