Purpose of a Quick Fix & Code Ownership
« on: May 15, 2013, 03:37:27 AM »
The following applies only to Quick Fixes / Code submitted in the HostBill Guides & Quick Fixes boards..

A quick fix is something that takes only a few minutes to apply. In order to keep fixes simple for other users, try to be as detailed and simplistic as possible.

These boards are here for two reasons.

  • To give users a quick fix to resolve any issues they're experiencing.
  • To give HostBill code / fixes to apply to their software for permanent implementation.

HostBill is not an open source project, so they do not have to apply fixes you post here. If they do apply fixes you've posted, you will not be notified. Regardless of HostBill's usage of code / fixes you provide, you agree to give HostBill an irrevocable, 100% royalty free license to use / apply the code and fixes into their software. You will still be credited for the fix in the form of a topic on these forums. All fixes benefit the community as a whole.

Simplified License
  • Users that post fixes / code give HostBill an irrevocable, 100% royalty free license to use / apply fixes and code to their software.
  • Users who post fixes on HostBillForums.com release it to the community so that others may apply the fixes to their HostBill installs.

If you do not wish to post your fixes, then don't post them. Upon release of your fix / code, it now belongs to the community, and HostBill if they apply it.
