Did someone took a look at the new version?

It has hardware/asset manager, something I was looking for some time now, I hope it integrates nicely into the colo plugin.

It also has two factor authentication, something which is amazing as extra security offering for your corporate customers.

Of course for the two factor authentication it would be nice if they would offer as well another option vs just one single paid third party service.

I've been waiting forever for two factor authentication, alas I won't be buying this module. Price seems too high for my wallet, I've got my .htaccess  :)

Yippee.  Too bad it's still provided by a company that can't be trusted with my business.

We have been using DuoSecurity with Hostbill since the day we started with HB in OCtober of last year.  We had Kris in our system regarding a hostname issue (BTW - bug is still there).  While looking at the hostname issue, they also looked at our TFA code.  Since we are a huge proponent of TFA we were glad that HB was researching it but was shocked when they attempted to access our HB Admin Area again was upset because their "one-time" authentication code had expired and that we would not allow multiple use of TFA.

What I cannot believe is that HB would take the "FREE" code from DuoSecurity, through it into a module and charge $199.  Our CTO sent them the steps for this in October.  It took a whole 5 minutes to upload it and add the appropriate files to use the system.

We are still waiting for our Ticket regarding the hostname BUG to be resolved.

Hostbillapp all together is getting a bit strange. I'm not sure why they moved away from an annuity to one-time fees. Most people starting a new business wont be able to afford Hostbillapp's $12,000 one-time fees to get started. With so much money invested in other areas (servers, network, etc), people would rather pay $100/mo or something similar until they get income to afford hostbill. Hostbill app is going to turn away first-timers for sure. I would be shocked if they had any recent signups.

I agree 100%.

The biggest problem is that hostbill's target market (which I can only guess would be high-end hosting providers?) are never going to risk investing such a large amount of money on the software, even if it did work as advertised.

It would be simply idiotic for a large business to trust Kris (owner of Hostbill) with something as important as the billing/customer management heart of their business, based on Kris's proven lack of ethics, morals, and unannounced (with still no later communication or discussion) major changes to the software.

I've long given up trying to figure out Kris's/Hostbill's business model.

I would love to see your steps ;-)
Be interested in making this work for everyone

I hear ya there :-)

I do like the colo datacenter options but again - I am wondering if its worth spending $199 to add them.

Wow. but it doesn't surprise me that kbkp would do something like that. And they didn't even address the bug itself. What an meat head.

Anyway, I too, am interested in a tutorial or doc to incorporate/implement this, when your CTO gets the time :)

Hi Guys,

I have have our CTO pull the code and "wash" it with confidential data and we will publish it here for access.  If I remember correctly, it was a couple of files.

Duo Security has a free account that allows up to 10 (I believe) users.  After that, they have a monthly subscription.  I would suggest to create a Duo Security Account and will get Alan on the secondary data that he used.  Perhaps with what my Team did and the "coders" here, perhaps we could even improve what we are using.

Cheers!!
