Since this is a nice, clean forum, easy on the eyes and very open to the public to ask questions, get answers and simply discuss things among eachother.  What are your thoughts on it?  Can you spare 5 minutes of your days chatting with other business owners who utilize Hostbill for their business?  The official hostbill forums do their job but, being so closed off they are a ghost town and not much discussion goes on over there other than complaints to get Kris's attention.

I think this is an alright idea, I can free up some time during my work days to come here and talk.

I'm looking forward to participation here as well Patrick :)

I think that, for the time being, until this community starts to grow, which it hopefully will, I'll preface any post I make at forum.hostbillapp.com with a link to these forums and also follow it up with another link at the end of any of my posts.

You're right, it's got a good clean look, and above all else, it's open. Nothing irritates people like the shennanigans that were going on over on the publisher's site.

I look at it this way too - he's got no interest in serving us, so since it's up to us ourselves, pending any legal proceedings brought against him, we might as well have a community that is the way we want it to be.

Thanks for your post mentioning this site ;)

I don't even mind the 3 factor antiSPAM measures either LOL!

Hey, you're on post 7, least the antispam measures are gone now too haha.  A link back here may be a good thing like you said and hopefully Kris one day would even join in.  It'll be interesting to say the least

I have no confidence in that unlikely possibility. But having said that, perhaps when someday he realizes that the ship he launched has sailed without him, he will wake up and smell the coffee.

Although I'm very angry about his treatment of us, his customer base. I would actually welcome that, and perhaps this is just the vehicle to brew that pot of coffee.

There's a lot of people using the term "Hate", over at WHT, where they incorporate that word to describe his sentiment and disdain towards us, his customers - the people who put food on his family's table, yet I haven't seen a single person ever say he's not a gifted and talented, or even an innovative developer.

If this forum (and any associated services under this domain and effort) accomplishes anything at all, it will be that we can actually ask a help question without worrying that one person will answer, while ten people say, "You should just ditch that software!"

Kindest regards,

Kris has confirmed that he likes the idea of these forums, and he may drop in to say hi. Hope that clears that up! :)

I'm all too aware of such things being posted on WebHostingTalk.com. I think he's a great developer, and actually have mentioned it a few times on the forums. I just don't respond too much to the HostBill threads on WHT.

I hope I'm not over-stepping my bounds when I say this, but posts that have short responses that say "Just leave the software" will probably be deleted. If you disagree, let me know. I just don't feel those types of responses would benefit the community at all.

These forums are hosted by me with no intentions to ever monetize them. These forums are here solely for the benfit of the HostBill community.

I agree with your last response.  These being a shared resource community forums of which are here for helping purposes and to gather a community i don't think it'd benefit anyone with those kind of threads.  Nothing wrong with actually discussing it, not my forums but i'd think any discussions shouldn't be muted but if someone were to post a thread and type 5 words saying to dump it, then no... those should be gone.  We're not investing time to help here to provide an outlet to let hostbill users or potential users know to dump hostbill.  Trying to encourage it a little more.

That's how i see it.

Good to hear.  Having an open forum i believe is very important so people don't feel censored.
