I am not sure what that issue is.

1. Is restoring from backup an option?
2. Could you look to perform a manual update?

I think rolling back and then trying a manual upgrade might be a sensible approach unless others have any ideas?

Try disabling the affiliate system for the time being and see if the client area comes up again.

And if you have a backup, then I would go with what BRJP suggests.

It seems the problem is caused if you have the "affiliate_redirect" module enabled. Please disable it to resolve this issue.
