I want to do the auto-upgrade, however when I try to do so, I get the simple and unhelpful message "Upgrade Fails".

No details more than that, so any tips where I can get more info or how to do manually ?

I am very new to HostBill so hope I am not missing something obvious  :-)

I have tired those links thanks, however was unable to get any use from them.

My current version is 2014-09-11

I cannot find any location to download the files manually which could be the easiest solution I assume.

How is PHP being run?  For example, are you running PHP under Apache, FastCGI etc?

This could be a permission issue.  We had this problem and it was solved by ensuring PHP was running under FastCGI rather than Apache. (I think that was because the Apache user did not have permission to run the upgrade scripts but not sure).

I don't know but think permissions!
Kind regards,

@BRJP

Thanks for the reminder, it was indeed the permission of apache to the /var/www folder itself.
