I doubt that.

See?
the colocation and management does not include the monitoring and importing of useage, graphs, bandwidth etc for servers & racks that are not owned etc. IE if you lease servers and resell them, you dont have access to apc power bars etc to do the reboots if you get the manager. The monitoring plugin is aimed at a different client type, typically those that want a simple way to offer clients something that they would otherwise have to invest in  infrastructure to get.

ILLEGAL. GODDAMN ILLEGAL! You can't charge people for updates, then come out with an update and not include it! Just calling something "deprecated" and making a "new" one, which it clearly isn't, because he clearly shows it as just a different version, which is, what folks.... AN UPDATE! There is 0 reason to no longer provide paying customers of the Colo module the update, other than to screw them. It is purely evil greed, there is no other reasoning behind it. This scumbag is infuriating.

Oh they aren't they only one doing these "types" of things.  Ubersmith is keeping users on existing v2 under existing pricing but once it reaches EOL they will be forced over to V3 and the new pricing tiers.  Once i'm forced over to the new UBS, we'll be dumping the software.  I think Hostbill is taking queues from UBS on a lot of what they are doing, thus this monitoring app for a laughable $400

pricing tiers is one thing, with EOL software, as stated in a license agreement. Just ending one abruptly, and forcing people to buy again completely if they want updates, is illegal, epecially under how KBKP has their licensing. They had it as updates included for 1 year and pay again for updates, nothing about EOL or anything. If they want to screw new customers, fine, but doing this to existing people with valid licenses that entitle them to the updates they bought, is ILLEGAL. Time to get lawyers involved, this dude is off the rails and needs to be brought back, he shows no remorse for pulling illegal after illegal move. Just because it's software doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with the products...

Oh i'm not doubting what you're saying.  It's why a lot of software gets nulled.  People feel they are getting screwed.  Considering the colo V2 was $400 or $300 one day then abruptly brought to an end and V3 suddenly pops up.  I wouldn't be paying for V3 .

minor version updates and major updates should be free. Just rebuilding the modules and naming them different should be free. A completely new reversion of the software with a ton of new features that are stable and tested I would pay for but not at the prices he has set.

Yeah, I tire of the recurring arguments surrounding the whole, "Is it worth it? How much is it worth? Should I buy it? Maybe this new module will be good..." fiasco.

Only a fool would buy HostBill.

Those of us who bought HostBill before it became a fools folly would be fools to purchase any of kbkps failware and fakeware modules.

And that's why we have THIS now.

I encourage all HostBill owners to get involved in this endeavor.
