HostBill Changelog Discussion - Version: 4.6.6 Date: 06-14-2013

Patrick

I'd have to say we're just about confirmed that new features will no longer be included in new releases anymore.  Two new things, both paid and over priced.
Hope everyone enjoys bug fixes in updates only as the software is so buggy that a handful of bugs can be fixed every release per month.

  • Month of June 27 bugs were fixed so far
  • Month of May 72 bugs were fixed
  • Month of April 66 bugs were fixed
  • Month of March 86 bugs were fixed
  • Month of Feb 60 bugs were fixed
  • Month of Jan 61 bugs were fixed

Total of: 372 bugs fixed in 5 and half months.

Don't want to sound negative but to only receive bug fixes in a software that should already have minimal bugs prior to public release is pretty upsetting as this is not what we bought in to.
I have no plans to update for a couple of days, wait and see how those of you who have dev licenses pan out etc.

Every friday i can not see any of the bugs fixed that have a high vote on place 1,2,3 etc. also there a Bugs fixed that i have never seen in the Bugtracker like:

Quote[module] InternetX: MX record priority can't be changed - is always set to 10
[module] InternetX: can't remove DNS records

so where are they from and why fixed first?

Would you care to explain how you confirmed this? As far as I know, features and bugs fixes are included in new releases for everything you already own.

New features that are not a new module.  Adding a tab in a client area for IPAM is not a great new feature.  The way things were in the past where we received most features should continue to be included.  Things like inventory control i'm completely understanding to being premium.  That kind of stuff can be for select people to purchase.

We are yet to see some real features introduced since the change, thus my blanket statement of confirmed (So far).  Could change, yes, but for now it hasn't.

Have you seen new features added to anything lately?  Meaningful features?  We also have yet to see if we'll receive updates to our existing modules, no new "features" have been included yet to verify this.

Enterprisevpssolutions

It has been a long time since any proxmox module or opensrs module update came out let alone the bug fixes and updates that have been requested for some of the other modules that came with our license before all the crazy changes occurred.

As you know we all insist on bug fixing instead of new features.
So i am also expecting new features for core but getting bug fixes are more important now.
The worse point is help.hostbillapp.com comes more useless every week.
in first week bugs came for priorities in bug tracker.

So for better bug tracking imo that system needs more features like commenting or moderation option.
This would solve most of the people needs here in forum

My issue is the 372 bugs "fixed" over 5.5 months.  Proof regression testing is needed.  I'm good for bug fixes, but when every release breaks things and the next one we can be exited for because it now fixes those things, it becomes a concern if to even upgrade anymore if your installation works just fine for your business as little to no new features are released anymore

At this point, I've stopped upgrading as of 2 versions back. Every upgrade introduces new bugs. My system is still quirky, but it's running. Sad I have to be fearful of my entire billing/support software completely breaking one day after performing an upgrade.

At this point, it will only be to apply security patches.

I don't know how I accidentally did it but I seemed to have locked the thread by mistake...I usually hit tab and enter to submit my messages, maybe hit tab too many times.  Nevertheless sorry people, honest mistake.

So, did anyone do the upgrade to v4.6.6?

I never do the upgrade on the weekend, I generally wait until wid-week.

Is this real? Because thats a lot!

Though software like cPanel has a lot of "fixes" it's in my opinion far more complex.  Yes it is absolutely real.  I was teaching my son to count, so i thought what better way LOL.. Not joking either.  Obviously he didn't understand what he was counting but it worked in a teaching manner haha

Well if not fabricated this is a good sign, he (people said that was only one developer) still programming and active, i hope someone took the business part and leave coding only for Kris...
