Desktop Notifications Of New Support Tickets In Hostbill?

Hopefully this is the right place to post this question - please move if not thanks mods.

Question: Hostbill's support ticket system doesn't seem to have a screen (visual) or audio notification when a new support ticket has been raised.

This means that support staff have to keep constantly coming back and checking the Hostbill ticket screen to see if there are any new tickets - not efficient.

I know Hostbill's ticket system sends emails for new tickets but this only works inconsistently for us and doesn't email usually when a new reply has been made to an existing ticket.

Hopefully more experienced users will know of a workaround as it seems crazy that there is no screen notification and/or sound option when a new ticket comes in.

There is not a feature such as you suggest.  But the support screen is dynamic.  If you leave the screen with the tickets open (Support --> Support Tickets) this screen updates dynamically.  But as you say, no sound nor desktop pop-ups.

We use PROWL to ensure that alerts get to our engineers.  Its crude but we never miss and alert that a ticket has been updated.

You can get the iOS version from app store.

There are instructions on the HostBill Support Site for integration: http://wiki.hostbillapp.com/index.php?title=Notification_modules

You will need to add the Notification Modules to HostBill in Modules.  Its name prowl or something close.

We mainly use Samsung smartphones and we're trying to find a good alternative to that one - we're on the right track though thanks.
